Akiya Hayama International School (AHIS) will open in Fall 2027 in Akiya (Yokosuka / Hayama area). Our school is being designed as a small, nature-connected international school that emphasizes hands-on learning, curiosity, creativity, and community.

The campus is surrounded by a 12 acre forest and is close to the ocean. Our program integrates outdoor exploration, inquiry-based learning, creativity, and interdisciplinary projects. Our goal is to create a learning environment where students develop both strong academic foundations and the confidence to explore their interests.

As part of this vision, we plan to offer after-school enrichment programs that allow students to pursue passions, try new skills, and learn from members of the wider community.

We are currently inviting expressions of interest from individuals who may be interested in leading after-school activities for our students.

These programs may include (but are not limited to):

• Sports and physical activities

• Music, drama, or creative arts

• Robotics, design, or technology

• Nature and outdoor exploration

• Language or cultural programs

• Crafts, making, or hands-on projects

• Mindfulness, wellbeing, or movement

Programs may take place once or twice per week after school, typically in the late afternoon.
