Pilot Programme

Children exploring outdoors
Discovery Club is an after-school programme where children explore, create, move, experiment, and learn through real experiences in nature.
We are offering a pilot programme from this Fall 2026, ahead of the school launch in Fall 2027.

Please apply for one programme based on your child's age and interest. One child may apply for only one programme.

Programme 1

Create / Move / Tech

Thursdays · 4:00–5:30pm

2026 Fall semester: October 8 - December 24 (12 sessions in total)

Ages 4–7 · as of Aug 31, 2026

This programme is for children ages 4–7 who want to build their English skills through active, hands-on learning. Each month has a theme—Elements in October, People in November and Stories in December—explored through Creative projects, Movement and Technology. Each session begins with story time and vocabulary building activities, followed by projects or games designed to get children using the vocabulary and phrases they learned.

Programme 2

Nature

Saturdays · 10:00–11:30am

2026 Fall semester: October 3 - December 19 (12 sessions in total)

Ages 6–12 · as of Aug 31, 2026

This is an outdoor learning programme in English for children ages 6–12 who want to build on their existing English through outdoor learning. Over 12 weeks, children progress from exploring the forest as visitors to caring for and contributing to it. They develop skills in navigation, observation, tool use and forest maintenance through practical challenges and teamwork.

If you're unable to commit to the full term, partial enrolment may be requested; priority is given to full-term applications

Most sessions at AHIS Forest.
Some sessions may be at nearby outdoor locations such as Sekine River or beaches in Hayama.
 
Drop-off/pick-up details shared with admitted families.
